New book on Golden Rescues!!

Dear Rescuers,
We are excited to invite you to participate in the second edition of Lost Souls: FOUND! Inspiring Stories About Golden Retrievers. Volume One was a smashing success both in fundraising and educating people about Golden Retriever rescue, and we don't expect this one to be any different. Additionally, this one will be published right before the holidays, which always brings in great book sales.

We will collect stories for this book through 10/15, although we do edit on a first come, first serve basis. In other words, please encourage your adopters and volunteers to send in their stories asap! I've attached a flyer for you to share with them.

A few things to keep in mind:
  • The more stories we get from your rescue, the more times your organization will be mentioned in the book and on our website.
  • Authors should submit stories DIRECTLY TO US via http://happytailsbooks.com/submit/
  • We edit stories as necessary in order to maximize flow and readability.
  • From mid-Oct until mid-Nov, we'll offer a pre-sale special, during which time we'll double the amount per book you receive from each sale (shoppers can indicate your organization on the check-out form). You will receive money designated for you in January.

Please don't hesitate to write with questions, and remember, time is of the essence, so please spread the word among your organization as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Kyla

Get Your Adopted Dog’s Story Featured in a Book! Happy Tails Books is looking for great stories of rescued dogs to be featured in our next book: Lost Souls: Found! Inspiring Stories About Golden Retrievers Vol. II. Over the past several years, the heartwarming Lost Souls: FOUND! series has entertained and inspired people, helping many, who had no idea about rescue and adoption, to see the rewards of volunteering with rescue and adopting rescued dogs. Sending in your dog’s story has many benefits: If selected, your dog will be immortalized in print, you’ll be helping to raise awareness about dog rescue, and each story contribution moves your favorite rescue organization toward a greater annual donation from Happy Tails Books’ sales. It doesn’t matter if you believe yourself to be a good writer or not – the important thing is that your story is emotional, interesting, has a clear point, and is less than 1200 words. Happy Tails Books will help you make it pretty (if necessary). You can submit as many stories as you’d like. Purebred and mixed-breed dogs welcome, as are stories from fosters and forevers. Story guidelines and a submission form are located at http://happytailsbooks.com/submit/. Click on any Lost Souls: Found! book link at http://happytailsbooks.com/buy/books/ for story examples. The submission deadline is October 15th, 2012, but we include stories on a first-come, first-serve basis, so please do not delay.
