Grace

Hi my name is Grace, and I guess by the Grace of God I am still alive. I was rescued from the Pompano animal control shelter, as you can tell I'm not in very good shape. I weigh 35 lbs. and am very anemic. I have a terrible case of hook worms and had at least a million fleas.  The good news is that I am heartworm negative (Yeah!!!). I have had a nice bath, a good meal and lots of medicine. The vet says if I keep eating and they can get rid of these nasty worms I should be fine. I will let you know when I am ready to go to my new forever home. I promise I will be a good girl.

Hello All

This is Graces latest picture taken today, she is looking much better.  Her lab values continue to improve.  She still has a long way to go but is looking much better.

Hi all

Well I finally got to go to my new home.  I have put on 13 lbs and am feeling so much better. I still have a way to go but Dr. Fernandes says I will be just fine. I really like my new mommy and I thing she is going to spoil me rotten.  I really want to thank everyone for the good wishes and donations for my care.  I will keep sending pictures so you can see how I am doing.

Dear All:
Gracie is doing really well.  She is already putting weight on, starting to play, and is the sweetest dog ever!  Photo's 3 and 10 are from the day we adopted her, and the other two photos were taken just 7 days later.
Gracie walks really well on a leash, is still unsure of water, is starting to smile, and does not beg for food despite her sorry past.  Thank you all so much for your prayers.
Many thanks must go to Carol who rescued her.

and many thanks from all of us to JO and her big heart for rescuing Grace

Dear Carol:
From the photo's, it looks like Gracie sleeps all of the time.  She does sleep a lot, but I think she is still not 100%.  Her weight gain has slowed, but she seems happy when she's awake.  She has been to the dog park twice but tends to socialize with the humans and watch the dogs play.  Chuck calls her his sissy girl and is very protective of her.  She has a lovely gentle temperament, is growing hair on her tail, and has fluff on her back thighs.  She is already beautiful and will be stunning soon.
Chuck is taking her out on the boat again this evening.  She seems to enjoy playing the Titanic role at the front of the boat.  She has Chuck wound around her paw.
Anyway, thanks again for all you have done for her.  I tell everyone to check out your website.  We could not be happier with Gracie.  She is the perfect dog for us.
Sincerely,
Jo Ehrler
