"Those darn rescues and all of their rules...."
read about why the rules are needed!

Read about the joys of fostering
from one of our own foster moms...

Dog Sitters
2 of our foster families (trusted people who love dogs) would like to "dog sit" if people are traveling. They will both do it in their homes...no cages, no crates and lots of fenced property for the dogs to run.  Laura and Joe are in Palm Beach County and Anita in Miami Springs.

For more information, check their page:

Pet Friendly Housing

Katie Reardon created a web site to help families find apartments which will allow pets...

After searching for an apartment that would accept her Jack Russell Daisy, and her Beagle Jerry, she  found it difficult to find "pet friendly" apartments, and wanted to help other pet owners find a home quick and easy. She also promotes "Adoption."  A lot of times when people are moving to a new home, they have a new furry friend in mind. They may even be searching for "pet friendly" apartments with the plan of getting a pet soon.  She wants to promote adopting instead of going to the local puppy store.  Go to MyApartmentMap  to learn more

This is Mary Thacker's reaction to the paragraph on the Fostering Page about our Goldens who are up for adoption. It described the state that these rescued dogs are sometimes in and the special people who take them home.

"I don't know who wrote the page on the site but I started crying because whoever did it, said it all. Everyone should see Ashlee with a torn tongue who has trouble drinking water and gets more on the floor than in her mouth. They should see Kady (Lady) who was tossed from here to there before she came to us and then there is Kelsee who is 14 and lived on a boat in the Keys and kept running away until the pound found her for the last time and would not give her back to her owner. The joy these dogs have brought us is unbelievable. Every time we adopt, it breaks my heart to see how these dogs have been treated. Of course they get so much love from their foster homes that it does make an easier transition when they get adopted. We love them so much and we love you for all you and your other foster mommies do for these dogs."

Trilogy, the manufacturer of the amazing dog food we use and recommend, LIFE'S ABUNDANCE, has awarded GRSF a grant to use toward our vet bills. The money is awarded to us through the Dr. Jane's HealthyPetNet Foundation. Dr Jane is the founder of the Life's Abundance products. This is truly a win-win situation. Not only do we believe that this food is the best ESPECIALLY for Goldens with all their food allergies. But for every bag ordered through our web site, a donation is made to GRSF. We cannot thank the Dr. Jane foundation enough for their work on behalf of animal rescues across America and their generosity to us. Please see the link for Dog Food on our web site.

Cancer research

Joining us at the last Reunion were Eileen and Chris Pike, the creators of the organization We Are The Cure. www.wearethecure.org  This young couple lost two dogs to the lethal and devastating cancer Hemangiocarcoma. It is one of the most prevalent and deadly cancers and kills thousands of Goldens each year. They have adopted 2 Goldens from GRSF since they lost their dogs and also help by being foster parents. We all will win by supporting this worthy cause!

This video is for Golden lovers.....

This video was produced by GRCGLA (Golden Rescue, Los Angeles), but it is universal in its appeal. Please take a minute to view it (bring your tissues) and if you are touched by it, please click on our how to donate link and give what you can. It is entirely possible that our vet bills will top $50,000.00 this year! That is JUST FOR OUR RESCUE!. You will be happy (and sad) to know that we have adopted out 156 dogs this year!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
